From Bishop Libby

friends, sisters and brothers in Christ: grace, mercy and peace from our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. We have recognised that coordinated communicated that arrives regularly might be helpful. Therefore, this is the first of a daily briefing which will be distributed in the afternoon every day until further notice. It will comprise an update of information from the previous 24 hours. Obviously, some days will have more that needs to be passed on than other days. If there is urgent information for immediate action, that will be forwarded in between, but we hope that will not often be necessary. I want to thank you for your patient, generous response to the current national, indeed global, crisis and your willingness to continue faithfully in unprecedented circumstances. An extraordinary amount has changed in just a short time, and things we took for granted are under threat. Nonetheless, it remains true that ‘God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in times of trouble’ (Ps 46), and Jesus’ promise to be with us always (Matt 28) will not fail. While we are all struggling with our own questions and fears, we are discovering what it is to be the Church for such a time as this: to live and grow in faith every day, wherever we are, and be good news for everyone. Be assured of my continuing prayers, and go in peace.
